My Word.

We were asked to derive a word from our brand and find five synonyms for this word and explain our reasoning for choosing this word.

The word that I have chosen is "Underground" I took this from my brand name because that essentially how this brand is viewed. Especially by people who aren't involved in skateboarding too because they have never heard of it. I guess in that sense the brands name definitely suits what they appear to be aiming for in their business. Im not sure if this was intended initially but it is something that I plan on researching and looking into.
Synonyms:

Alternative, concealed, covert, experimental, subversive.

Brainstorm Mystery.

Here is my brainstorm just to display some of the idea's that i personally have about the Mystery skate brand.

Mystery Skate Team.

This is a video I found on youtube of the mystery skate team,  just to give a feel for what the brand Mystery are about and doing.
I felt that due to the lack of people knowing this brand it has quite an underground feel about it that I like and enjoy, another reason that I chose mystery was that they have strictly stuck to skateboarding unlike many other skateboard brands such as DC. Who as they have got bigger have started sponsoring snowboarders and people from other extreme sports.

Brainstorm.

Also here is my initial brainstorm.

Storyboard.

Here is the brief storyboard which i used when i first chose the Kusudama ball, its basically just a draft of the thoughts that were bouncing around inside my head at the time.

Final Clip - The Kusudama Flower.

Progress.

Here is a quick picture of part way through the stop motion clip. Just to show what to expect.

Progress.

Although it was fun to make the test clip with stick it notes i did not want my final stop motion to be made using them, so i kept on searching. Finally after all most giving up i came across this.

The ball in this picture is called a Kusudama Ball and is made through Origami. It instantly took my interest and i wanted to know how to make one. So i decided that this would be my stop motion clip - The making of a Kusudama ball to represent the growth of ideas and thought and how lots of small ideas can build up to create a bigger picture.

I found that to make this ball you had to learn how to make these first.

So I set about learning this process and make a rough ball just to make sure that I could in fact pull it off. I had a few minor hiccups as you do but apart from that it went fine.

Test.

So while brain storming I came up with a few different ideas if what materials I could use and what i was going to do in my stop motion.
I made a test video of a rough idea also, i did this to see what it looked like and to also see whether i could work the program I was going to be using for this project.

The clip.

So due to events which took place over study break i had to change my idea for my stop motion. I came up with the new idea of looking at the development of ideas and how they are formed. I thought about how i come up with ideas and I thought that one thing that helps me develop ideas is hearing about other [peoples ideas and forming my own from these that are different. I think that hearing how someone else views things helps me to think about how i wish to interpret whatever the task is.
I figure i wanted to do a stop motion then that is focused on lots of smaller things creating one big picture, to show the development of ideas.
